The VersaCAMM® streamlines the production process by automatically contour cutting printed graphics. By eliminating the need to reload and reposition graphics, the VersaCAMMfts integrated cutters save time and effort.
ECO-SOL MAX is a remarkable innovation in ink technology. Building on Roland’s award-winning eco-solvent ink, ECO-SOL MAX features several new enhancements including faster drying time, higher density, wider color gamut, improved scratch resistance, lower cost per square foot, and broader uncoated media support. In addition, ECO-SOL MAX is virtually odorless and does not require any special ventilation or environmental equipment. ECO-SOL MAX graphics are water, scratch and UV resistant up to 3 years outdoors*.
* Outdoor durability is based on accelerated weather tests. Results may vary depending upon location and application. Dry times vary depending on specific media characteristics. Lamination may be required for some applications or environmental conditions.
VersaWorks is powerful RIP software developed by Roland engineers for the company’s inkjet technology. Built upon the genuine Adobe ® PostScript ® CPSI ™ RIP engine, VersaWorks features an efficient graphical user interface that allows users to maximize their Roland inkjet without a lengthy learning curve.
VersaWorks is packed with features including Roland Color, Roland’s exclusive spot color fidelity system, Variable Data Printing, and a wide variety of convenient layout, edit and print functions such as nesting, tiling and auto/manual-layout.
VersaWorks also offers the ability to preview jobs on screen, reducing ink and media consumption due to mistakes. Users can use two job queues for handling different print conditions and can automatically update VersaWorks through the Internet, ensuring that they always have the latest software version and Roland DGA ICC profiles available. VersaWorks is compatible with Windows 2000/XP operating systems.
An integrated heating system, which can be set from 95° to 122°F, helps ECO-SOL MAX ink bond to both uncoated and coated media and dry faster. For ease of use, the heating system is controlled from the printer as well as the computer. For energy efficiency, a single source of power runs both the heating system and print/cut mechanism.
SP-540V only - The VersaCAMM® delivers superior media handling, allowing you to experience optimum performance on a vast array of media options. Removable pinch rollers allow you to accommodate any range of media – from banner material to vinyl. Up to five rollers can be used at once, allowing you to match the configuration to your media type. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate variable media thicknesses as well.
Eco-SOL Media is developed especially for Roland ECO-SOL MAX ink, which is used by VersaCAMM® and SOLJET inkjets. It includes a wide selection of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive-backed vinyls and other popular substrates. The line-up currently consists of glossy, matte, clear and translucent calendered, premium cast vinyl, premium reflective vinyl, view-through vinyl, flame retardant scrim banner, blockout scrim banner and solvent glossy paper.
Roland also offers an additional 20 materials that optimize SOLJET and VersaCAMM® print quality. They include heat transfer material, backlit film, matte artist canvas and a high-quality matte paper in its SCM, PQM, PGM and PCM media line-ups.
VersaCAMM® produces banners, signs, POP displays and a full range graphics at a maximum print speed of 114-square-feet per hour on the SP-540V in 360 x 720 DPI billboard printing mode. The SP-300V prints at up to 63 square-feet per hour. The VersaCAMM’s unique design as a combination printer/cutter further saves time, allowing you to both print and contour cut your designs together – even unattended – in one easy step.

ECO-SOL MAX boosts the performance of Roland’s SOLJET and VersaCAMM inkjets at low running costs that both you and your customers will appreciate.
For a low-density image, we estimate an average ink cost of $.16 per sqft. and an average media cost of $.30 per sqft. for a total of $.46 per sqft. For a high-density image, we estimate an average ink cost of $.28 per sqft. and an average media cost* of $.30 per sqft. for a total of $.58 per sqft.
The VersaCAMM® uses variable droplet technology to precisely control droplet placement in both print head travel and paper feed directions. It can achieve print resolutions up to 1440 x 1440 dpi.
The VersaCAMM® media counter allows users to enter the length of a new roll of media into the printer’s control panel. The counter then tracks media usage, allowing the user to check the amount of media remaining on the roll prior to printing. When media is removed from the printer, the amount remaining can be printed directly onto the leading edge of the roll for future reference.
To ensure correct media feed and the highest possible image quality, VersaCAMMs have both long and short removable media guides. These guides are essential when using media with edge curl tendencies. They can be removed for print/cut operation.
As with all Roland inkjets, the VersaCAMM® offers years of reliable service, even in the most demanding shop environments. Each one is built with solid construction and enhancements for precise media control. It also features new print head maintenance systems for unmatched mechanical reliability.
The VersaCAMM SP-540V is equipped with a 100 BASE-TX/10 interface enabling seamless connectivity to office networks. The VersaCAMM SP-300V is equipped with an industry standard USB port making it easy to configure a highly efficient printing environment.
Roland offers a chip chart for each media. Simply download the appropriate chart and have your customer choose the color they desire from the chart.
Compatible with all VersaCAMM, SOLJET PRO IIV and Hi-Fi JET Pro II FJ-540 inkjets, the optional TU2 Take-Up System is available for $1,995. This heavy-duty unit supports up to 66 lbs. of roll weight and features Roland’s unique advanced tension-controlled take-up system for optimum media feed and tracking. It’s the perfect upgrade for high-volume shops running banner, paper or other print-only materials.
